Fresh Figs

IMG_2955

We inherited a fig tree when we bought the house. I was pretty excited because I grew up with an ancient one outside the kitchen window that I spent every summer climbing and hiding out in. And then I remembered that I didn’t care for figs as a child.

Now, our fig tree is putting off fruit like crazy, and I have no idea what to do with it all!!!

IMG_2959IMG_2961I’m sure I would enjoy figs now, but biting into a fig doesn’t sound great (yet) and I’m totally lost on how to cook or bake with them!

If you have any recipes or tips to share, I would love to hear them!

Your figs are beautiful. I’ve never seen one before. I can’t help with a recipe, but I look forward to seeing any you share. 🙂

There are great recipes on the net. One is with brie cheese and my favorite is a pork roast with caramelized onions and figs. Just run “fig recipes” and you’ll have plenty. I’m jealous, so jealous.

I'd love to hear from you, please leave a comment:
